Fishing in the lake is permitted. However, all fishing in City of Avondale lakes is regulated by the Arizona Game and Fish Department, through the Community Fishing Program, which requires a valid fishing license.  Per AZ Game and Fish, all parties fishing in public waters 10 years and older (aside from blind residents) need a license.  Licenses can be purchased online here (costs vary based on age, license type, and residency)
